Indian Autos Blog has learned that the Royal Enfield Continental GT will be launched in India on the evening of November 26th in Goa. The fastest, lightest and most powerful Royal Enfield in production was launched in the UK only last month.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT will be powered by a single-cylinder 535cc fuel-injected engine that produces 29.1PS and 44Nm of torque and comes paired to a five-speed transmission. The cafe racer weighs 184kg (with 90% of fuel) while it has a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 liters. The Continental GT should be good for about 25-30km/l.
Handling suspension duties would be the job of 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. A 300mm Brembo disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear take care of the braking.
The Continental GT will ride on 100/90 18-inch Pirelli Sport Demons at the front and 130/70 18-inch Pirellis at the rear. Inspired by the 1960's cafe racer, the Continental GT measures 2060mm in length, 760mm in width, 1070mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1360mm (Note: The width and height measurements do not factor in the mirrors).
We expect Royal Enfield to price the Continental GT at about INR 2-2.5 lakhs. Stay tuned for further updates.
