Bajaj Auto is planning to introduce Austrian bike manufacturer KTM’s range of products in India in the next two months or probably during the Auto Expo.

Bajaj seems to be very active in this budget performance motorcycle segment. By tying up with Kawasaki and introducing the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, it is getting ready to launch KTM bikes in India.

This should be an encouraging sign for other bike makers to enter India and sell performance motorcycles. Enthusiasts as usual will be delighted to sit and feel these motorcycles from their saddles.

KTM is planning to launch its Duke 690 model which will be followed by models like 990 Superduke and 690 Supermoto. These bikes are expected to be displayed at the 2010 Auto Expo. Apart from launching their bikes in India, KTM is also planning to bring their entire range of bike accessories and riding gear in the country. KTM is also planning to organize motorcycle tours in India which will be a boost to the biking culture in our country.

125cc motorcycle by Bajaj-KTM in India next year

Bajaj has failed to deliver its 6 months-6 bikes promise, but if you listen to the latest development, you’ll forgive them instantly.

A 125cc motorcycle jointly developed by KTM and Bajaj (Bajaj holds a considerable percentage of share in KTM) will be displayed at next year’s Delhi Auto Expo. The 125cc motorcycle will be presented at the EICMA show, also known as the Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy, in November. The Milan Motorcycle Show attracted half a million visitors last year and is a popular show among bike manufacturers to display new products.

Information is sparse at this point. Whether Bajaj will introduce this motorcycle under the Bajaj banner, or under a separate brand of motorcycles is left to be seen.
