FZ16 to sell in Indonesia as Yamaha Byson

FZ16_Yamaha_wheelYamaha FZ16 hits Indonesian market under the name Byson

If sources are to be believed then Yamaha plans to launch a new model in Indonesia called the Byson. The Byson is nothing but the FZ16 which was introduced in India last year.

After seeing the tremendous success of FZ16, Yamaha is exporting the same model to Indonesia with a different name. Indonesia isn’t a place where Indian bikes are not a rare sight.

The Byson will most probably be exported from India. The bike would have the same 153 cc engine and we do not expect many changes except for decals and badges.

If launched in Indonesia this bike would surely give tough competition to other bike manufacturers in the country. As of now there is no confirmed news of its launch and price in Indonesia.

The limited edition Royal Enfield shown here is based on the Classic 500 which has latest technology like Fuel injection and electric start but to make it a Woodsman model the company will give the legendary touch by providing it with the same set of higher bars and exhaust pipe as they were present on the 1955 Woodsman.

Apart from this, the bike would include new additions like alloy bash plate, rearset footrests, a single seat and a luggage rack.

This limited edition Bullet Classic was co-designed by renowned fashion photographer Nick Clements who also happens to be a fan of vintage styles, and British leathers manufacturer Lewis Leathers. The bike comes up with some unique paint scheme, double toned leather seat cover and saddle bags made of leather.

The bike will be launched early next year at a cost of £4699. We never said it was cheap.

After encountering the brisk response superbikes are receiving in India, Yamaha is planning to bring in the 2010 YZF-R1 model next year.

However, Pankaj Dubey, the national business head of India Yamaha Motor didn’t give anything away regarding its exact launch time and price.

Just to let our readers know that 2010 R1 was launched globally in September 2009 at $13,290. Bringing it into India will involve 110% import duty, so there isn’t going to price slash. That is for sure.

The company currently sells an earlier edition of the R1 and MT-01 along with the recently launched V-Max in its product line in India. These existing products have been brought in as CBUs with V-Max costing around a whopping 20 lakhs and the other two around 13 lakh mark.

The 2010 edition will feature an improved liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine.

Major players like Ducati, Harley Davidson and Suzuki along with Yamaha are keen to tap the increasing demand of big bikes in India. 2010, I think will be a blast for shoppers looking for a performance buy.

2010-Honda-CBF125-white-and-black-1The Honda CBF Stunner gets a new color scheme in Europe. Perhaps it will await us at the Expo ’10?

Honda, earlier in this month, launched a new white and black color scheme for its CBF 125 (known as CBF Stunner in India) in the European market. The CBF 125 was launched last year to replace the old CG 125 in the Europe.

The White-black paint scheme looks attractive and it wouldnt be a bad move to launch this color scheme in India as well. As we all know that the CBF-Stunner in the 125cc segment, is popular among the youth. This color scheme would provide another reason for the people to go for this bike in its segment.

So lets wait and watch if this color arrives in India as well, may be we’ll see it in 2010 Auto Expo?
