As Mahindra continues testing the Mahindra U321/S321 in India, new spy shots of the MPV have emerged, courtesy Anything On Wheels.
The new spy shots of the Mahindra S321/U321 provide a good look at its traditional MPV-like proportions. The U321, which will replace the 8-year-old Mahindra Xylo, is, size-wise, aimed squarely at the Toyota Innova. It is the company's first vehicle designed and developed by the Mahindra North American Technology Center (MNATC).
The Mahindra U321 reportedly rides on an all-new platform. Mahindra has a variety of engine options on the table to offer in the three-row MPV. These include the new 1.6-litre diesel engine co-developed with SsangYong and the 1.99- and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines of the XUV500, as well as the newly-developed 2.2-liter petrol engine. The choice of petrol and diesel engine planned for the U321 depends on how Mahindra wants to position it.

M&M should offer the U321 with features like projector headlamps, keyless entry, engine push-start, power-adjustable driver's seat, touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation and Android Auto and six airbags. The company will build the U321 at the Nashik plant and launch it in India by year-end.
