Mitsubishi unveiled the rumoured Mitsubishi Expander this week without revealing its commercial name. Autonetmagz.com has posted an image of the LMPV's floor mat, which has 'Mitsubishi Xpander' written on it.
The Mitsubishi Xpander is derived from the Mitsubishi XM concept that was introduced at GIIAS 2016. The SUV-styled MPV measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height. It offers a ground clearance of 205 mm. As for the engine, Mitsubishi has so far revealed only that it has a 1.5-litre engine. Reports say that this is a MIVEC petrol unit producing 103.2 hp at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are the transmission choices.
Mitsubishi hasn't released complete features of the Mitsubishi Xpander yet, however, the media debut this week has revealed some details. LED daytime running lights, 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, colour MID, touchscreen infotainment system and two-tone (black/beige) interior colour scheme with wood trim are among the known highlights. The 7-seat MPV has 60:40 split second-row seats and 50:50 split third-row seats.
