The T-ROC is tipped to launch later this year, while the Polo-based T-Cross is planned for 2019.
L'Auto Journal's latest magazine cover has featured renderings of the Golf-based VW T-ROC and the Polo-based VW T-Cross SUV, giving us an idea of what Volkswagen's compact crossover family will look like. The T-ROC is confirmed to launch later this year, while the Polo-based T-Cross is planned for 2019.
The T-ROC will be Volkswagen's smallest crossover, slotting just below the VW Tiguan. Its dimensions will be roughly similar to the Audi Q2, which shares its MQB platform and several components with T-ROC. In the concept form, the T-Roc measures 4178 mm long, 1831 mm wide and 1501 mm high.
VW has not yet revealed the exterior or interior design, and have been cleverly disguising the test mules. However, spyshots of another T-ROC prototype with a cammo wrap reveals some of the design elements, which has been incorporated into L'Auto Journal's rendering. Like in the rendering, the T-ROC could also come with dual tone colour options as previewed by the T-ROC Concept in 2014.

The T-Cross SUV is up next, set to become VW's least expensive crossover offering come 2019. It is tipped to ride on the next gen Polo's less expensive MQB A0 platform, and was previewed by the open top T-Cross Breeze concept at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. To give an idea of the T-Cross SUV's dimensions, VW had revealed that the T-Cross Breeze measured 4,133 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width and 1,563 mm in height, and had a wheelbase of 2,565 mm.
Unless VW India commits an investment to localize the MQB kit in India, expect none of these models (including Polo and Virtus) in India.
