Will go on sale in Europe in H2 2017.
The 2017 VW Polo is ready for its June revealing in Europe and in the latest, its clearest completely undisguised spy shots to the date have surfaced on the web, courtesy Auto Bild.
Up front, the all-new VW Polo's redesigned headlamps with LED signature light look sleeker and more consistent with the single-slat radiator grille. That, paired with the more aggressive bumper, which features chrome trim, gives a brawnier look to the car. Subtle creases and chrome trim make the car look premium.
The tapered roofline makes the greenhouse sleeker, and both together give a sportier appeal to the car. At the rear, the back glass leans further inwards, while the squarish tail lamps have tweaked graphics. A redesigned bumper and tailgate round up the changes at the rear.
With the latest redesign, the VW Polo has switched from the PQ25 platform to the lighter, safer and electrification-ready MQB A0 Global platform. Volkswagen is expected to offer it with a variety of naturally aspirated/turbocharged petrol engines with displacements ranging from 1.0- to 2.0-litre. These include the 1.5-litre TSI unit from the 2017 VW Golf and a 2.0-litre TSI unit producing around 200 hp in the GTI variant. European markets reportedly get two TDI diesel engines - 1.2L and 1.6L. Transmission choices will be 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
