Facelifted Ford EcoSport also in the works alongside.
The Platinum Edition may not be the last update to the current Ford EcoSport as the Blue Oval is seen trialling a dual-tone colour scheme for the pre-facelift Ford EcoSport, photos shared by reader Alok Garg reveal. The novelty of the stripes and contrast roof could help clear inventory of the outgoing model faster, could be part of future Ford genuine accessories, or a special edition for an export market.
While the Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition had a black roof, the Ford EcoSport with the two-tone colour scheme is lavished with black racing stripes on the bonnet and a contrast white on the A-pillar, roof, C-pillar and around the window line. The door mirrors are finished in the body paint, and the 16-inch alloy wheels are not new.
Alongside the dual-tone Ford EcoSport, one can see the facelifted Ford EcoSport. The new EcoSport, along with a Ford Escape-inspired front fascia, gets a redesigned instrument, dashboard and centre console, horizontal central HVAC vents and Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8.0-inch floating screen and compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The updated EcoSport reportedly goes on sale in India around Diwali.

The Ford EcoSport is offered with 82 kW (112 PS) 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol, 92 kW (125 PS) 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol and 73.8 kW (100 PS) 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engines and 5-speed manual and 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch automatic transmissions. No changes are expected here, connoting that the fuel economy figures (1.5 petrol MT – 15.85 km/l, 1.5 petrol AT - 15.60 km/l, 1.0 petrol MT – 18.88 km/l and 1.5 diesel MT – 22.27 km/l) of the facelifted model will not differ much.
