Models in question are likely to be the Maruti Vitara Brezza & Maruti Baleno.
In an interview with ET Auto, Mr RC Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, has revealed that some Maruti products will continue to have a long waiting period this year. This is despite producing cars in Suzuki's new Gujarat facility that will deliver about 175,000 cars this year, which technically should free up production capacity in Maruti's other plants.
Mr Bhargava was quoted saying:
Our backlog orders are already about 130,000 to 140,000 cars and if you add the normal growth of market demand and demand for new models launching this year, I feel we will still unfortunately continue with backlogs in some of the models.

Models in question are likely to be Maruti Vitara Brezza and Maruti Baleno, for which dealers are quoting a waiting period of 6 months. Maruti also has the next-gen Swift Dzire in the pipeline for launch this year, which could garner good demand from the market.
Keeping into account the current growth rate of market demand, Maruti believes that backlogs will continue to exist. At the moment, the Vitara Brezza SUV accounts for nearly 80,000 units of the backlogs.
