Exterior styling could mirror the Brazilian-spec version.
The Hyundai Creta arrived in July 2015 as the global version of the China-only Hyundai ix25. According to a report from Autocar India, the refreshed model is already in the works and is likely to launch next year.
Like the recently refreshed Hyundai Grand i10 and Hyundai Xcent, the new Hyundai Creta should feature the Cascading grille that's now the signature of company's latest models. Other changes may include tweaked headlights and taillights, vertically stacked fog lamps, larger intakes and new design alloy wheels, as seen in the Brazilian-spec Creta. HMIL could simply borrow the blueprint from Brazil and share it with part vendors to cut time to market.
The interior isn't expected to get as many changes. The facelift could bring a new colour scheme, revised instrument cluster and upgraded infotainment system to the Hyundai Creta. Additionally, Hyundai could make some changes to the equipment offered in the different trim levels, like offering the automatic transmission in the top-spec variant.
The Hyundai Creta is currently offered with 123 PS 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol, 90 PS 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre U2 VGT CRDi diesel engine options. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, but the 1.6-litre engine models are available with a 6-speed automatic transmission optionally. The mid-cycle refresh isn't expected to bring new engines to the Creta, but it could bring mild-hybrid tech for improved fuel economy.

Along with the facelifted Hyundai Creta, Hyundai is working on the second-gen Hyundai Creta that will arrive in 2021. The latter is expected to offer a 7-seat seating layout optionally.
