Lexus' compact SUV gets a facelift with a host of upgrades.
Lexus has unveiled the 2017 Lexus NX at Auto Shanghai 2017. The facelift brings revised styling and new equipment to the compact SUV.
Up front, the 2017 Lexus NX's revised Spindle grille has satin and smoked chrome trim elements. Lexus has relocated the fog lamps to the corner of the bumper, separating them from the ducts. The AHS-equipped headlamps and triple projectors are inspired by those of the Lexus LC. The new shape of the lower bumper better supports the Spindle grille.
Moving on, there are two 18-inch aluminium wheel options available. At the rear, the lower bumper cover is broader and has elements of the Spindle grille motif. The revised tail lights are longer and their black garnish now better emphasises the "L"-shaped lenses. There's a new rear underbody spoiler too.
Lexus has updated the Lexus NX's interior with the facelift. The central display on dashboard has grown from 7-inch to 10.3-inch in size, four easy-to-operate toggle switches have replaced the small section of buttons on the HVAC control panel, the analogue clock is larger and includes satellite control which allows for automatic time setting in different time zones, the remote touch interface pad on the centre console is now larger for easier operation, the wireless charger is larger now, the repositioned USB ports in the centre console have increased amperage for faster charging and the HUD is now integrated into the upper instrument panel.
The new model also offers the convenience of a foot-operated rear hatch.
The 2017 Lexus NX gets the Lexus Safety System + as standard, an active safety technology pack that includes Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System, Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB).

There are no changes to the engines, but the NX 200t is now called NX 300. More importantly, Lexus has made significant improvements to the suspension tuning to enhance ride and handling. A change even bigger than the retuned springs, stabiliser bars and bushings and the new shock absorbers, is the vehicle's Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) that is now based on the advanced system found in the LC 500. The new AVS offers a range of up to 650 instantaneous compression and damping adjustments (previously 30). The suspension tuning and addition of sound deadening have improved the NVH levels, claims Lexus.
