The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the present flagship of Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj Auto changed the face of Indian motorcycling industry when they introduced the Bajaj Pulsar brand. From the humble Pulsar 150 to the tech-laden Pulsar RS200, the motorcycle has made the company one of the largest two-wheeler makers in the world.
Now, Bajaj Auto's Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj has revealed to MoneyControl that new models will be added to the range in the coming months.
Bajaj recently updated the Bajaj Pulsar range to meet the upcoming BSIV emission norms. The range extends from the Bajaj Pulsar 135LS and goes up to the Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
Mr Bajaj said -
There is going to be action in the existing brands. There will be lots of action this year and next. So definitely the Pulsar and Avenger brands are very important for us and there will be more attention there to increase the business of both the brands.
While he did not reveal details on the products, this might be the first hints of a production version of the Bajaj Pulsar SS400 showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. A bigger capacity Avenger, reported in the offing since 2016, could be the next entrant, as the Dominar 400’s powertrain is focused as a power cruiser.
As for its flagship, Bajaj has so far sold around 3,000 units of the Bajaj Dominar 400 in the first two months and they aim to increase it to 5,000 units in March.
