Kawasaki India is set to become an independent entity without support from Bajaj Auto.
The Kawasaki ZX10RR was unveiled at Intermot in October 2016. The motorcycle is set to be launched in India on March 11 reports ZigWheels.
The Kawasaki ZX10R is a production motorcycle which won’t find itself out of place at a race track. The limited edition sibling, the Kawasaki ZX10RR, takes things to a whole new level. The European allotment was announced to be 500 units.
The bike gets a re-worked cylinder head and new reinforced crankcases for increased durability. The tappets get low friction DLC coating while the lightweight forged aluminium Marchesini wheels help in reducing the kerb weight of the motorcycle. Front brake gets a Brembo M50 monobloc calliper with laterally grooved Brembo disc rotors plus a Brembo radial pump master cylinder and steel braided hoses.
Powering the Kawasaki ZX10RR is a 998 cc in-line four cylinder, liquid cooled DOHC mill which is coupled to a 6-speed cassette type gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 200 PS of maximum power at 13,000 rpm and 113.5 Nm of peak torque at 11,500 rpm. The power output can be raised to 210 PS at the same engine speed with RAM air intake.
The Kawasaki ZX10RR is suspended over 43 mm inverted fork with rebound and compression damping, spring preload adjustability and top-out springs up front and Horizontal Back-link with gas-charged shock and top-out spring with compression damping and spring preload with full adjustability. The Kawasaki ZX10RR has a kerb weight of 206 kg.
The Kawasaki ZX10RR is priced in the UK at GBP 16,249 which is GBP 2,100 more than the standard version. The Indian version too can be expected to get a hefty power bump.
