India-bound 2017 Toyota Vios showcased at BIMS 2017

Reported to be unveiled in India at Auto Expo 2018.

The India-bound 2017 Toyota Yaris sedan (Vios) is currently being showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2017. The Vios showcased at the Thai motor show is the facelifted version, which went on sale in January at prices starting from THB 609,000.

The 2017 Toyota Vios has a redesigned front fascia that's more striking than its predecessor which has been spied testing in India on multiple occasions. Top-end variants come with projector headlamps, LED light guides, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights. It measures 4,420 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,475 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,550 mm.

The interior design is more or less identical to its predecessor, save for the updated instrument cluster and revised 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system in G and S grades. The model showcased is the top-end Vios S, which gets sporty leather seats with red accents.

The model sold in Thailand is powered by a 2NR-FBE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine with 108 hp at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. A CVT is standard is across the range. The Indian version could add the 1.4L D-4D 4-cyl diesel engine as an option when it comes to the market next year to take on the Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.
