New styling, upgraded engine and more features arriving with facelift.
HMSI has readied a facelift for the Honda Dio with some notable visual updates and other changes. BikeAdvice.in reader Rahul Krishnan has shared spy shots of uncamouflaged units of the 2017 Honda Dio, the BS4 version, revealing the exterior changes arriving with the facelift.
The 2017 Honda Dio seems to feature revised front apron and new lighting element which looks like daytime running lights over the front apron. The current model is available in Sports Red, Black, Candy Palm Green, Candy Jazzy Blue and Matte Grey colours. The company will introduce a new yellow shade with grey accents, as seen in the above image, as well as a new orange/matte grey shade with the facelift. New body graphics for refreshed styling are also expected.
The Honda Dio measures 1,781 mm in length, 710 mm in width and 1,133 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,238 mm. The seat height measures at 765 mm. The pre-facelift model is powered by a 109.20 cc engine that produces 5.89 kW (8 bhp) at 7,000 rpm and 8.77 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The facelifted model will get an upgraded version of this engine that will comply with the BSIV norms. HMSI claims a top speed of 83 km/h for the pre-facelift Honda Dio.

Like other recently launched Honda models, the 2017 Honda Dio will feature Automatic Headlamp ON (AHO) function that all two-wheelers launched from April 2017 will need to have mandatorily. The headlight turns on as soon as the engine is started and there is no switch to turn off the headlight. The Honda Dio is currently priced at INR 48,651 (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelift could see the price getting hiked slightly.
