Will be launched in India in March 2017.
Tata Motors has announced that the production version of the Tata KITE 5 concept showcased at Auto Expo 2016 will be named 'Tata Tigor'. The company has also released a sketch of the Tata Tiago-based sedan.
The Tata Tigor will be a sub-4 metre sedan, but a very different one from class competitors like the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. Tata Motors' design team has taken a very different approach for the sedan version of the Tata Tiago. Instead of just adding a boot and giving minor changes at the rear, the designers have created what looks like a low-slung fastback.
Following the reveal of the concept in February last year, the Tata Tigor has already leaked in undisguised spy shots before, and it is not as sporty and aggressive as depicted in the official sketch. The Tigor's still considerably sportier at the rear among class rivals, thanks to its unique silhouette. Tata Motors proudly terms the car a 'Styleback'. With this design, the company has managed to create 420 litres of boot space.

Tata Motors says that the Tata Tigor will be launched soon, and as per a recent report, that will happen in March 2017. The new sub-compact sedan will be available with the familiar 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder diesel engines. A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard, while a 5-speed automated manual transmission could be offered as an option at launch or follow later this year.
