Will make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7.
Borrowing cues from the Tamo C-Cube and its teaser, Shoeb R Kalania has created a rendering of the Tamo Futuro sportscar. It will make its world premiere in concept form at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show on March 7.
What could be the country's least expensive mid-engine sportscar, the Tamo Futuro is tipped to arrive in 2018 and priced at around INR 25 lakh. It would create a segment of its own below the DC Avanti, another India-made mid-engined sportscar. It would be interesting to see the Futuro's sales performance in India, and more importantly what it does to Tata Motors' brand equity.
The Futuro is reported to be based on the Tata X1 platform that finds application in the Bolt, Zest and the upcoming Tata Nexon, and will have the compact proportions of mid-engined sports cars like the Opel Roadster.
Under the hood is reported to be a twin-turbocharged version of the 1.2L Revotron petrol motor, which is expected to produce 180 bhp+.

It is claimed to offer good power-to-weight ratio, thanks to the lightweight chassis (under 800 kg targeted) developed by the famed Marcello Gandini.
