The Royal Enfield Himalayan is the company’s first true off-roader.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been launched in the Philippines. The bike is up for pre-orders and deliveries will begin in April 2017. The company began its operations in the Philippines since February 2012.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a new 411 cc SOHC mill which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 24.5 bhp of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque which peaks in the range of 4,000 to 4,500 rpm. The fuel-air mixture is controlled by a carburettor and a throttle position sensor.
A Euro4 version of the Himalayan was showcased at EICMA 2016, and a fuel injected version is also on the cards. The bike tips the scales at 182 kg (kerb). It gets a 15-litre fuel tank and has a ground clearance of 220 mm. The Royal Enfield Himalayan gets disc brakes at both ends with a 21-inch wheel up front and a 17-inch in the rear.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan measures 2,190 mm in length, 840 mm width and a height of 1,360 mm with the flyscreen top. It has a wheelbase of 1,465 mm and a seat height of 800 mm.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been priced at PHP 299,000.
