Royal Enfield Himalayan was showcased in India for the first time in February 2016.
Royal Enfield will be launching the Royal Enfield Himalayan in Thailand next year, reports Bangkok Post. The bike was absent at the recently concluded Thai Motor Expo where Royal Enfield showcased customised motorcycles.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan carries a 411 cc Long Stroke mill coupled to a 5 speed constant mesh gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 24.5 bhp of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque in the range of 4,000 to 4,500 rpm. The fuel-air mixture is controlled by a carburettor and a throttle position sensor, but the company has confirmed that a fuel-injection system is in the plan.
A Euro4 compliant version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan was showcased at EICMA 2016 but that is unlikely to make its way to India or any of the Asian markets anytime soon. The Himalayan gets disc brakes all around with a 21 inch wheel up front and a 17 inch in the rear.
The bike measures 2,190 mm in length, 840 mm in width and has a seat height of 800 mm. The ground clearance is 220 mm and the fuel tank can store 15 litre of petrol. The Royal Enfield Himalayan tips the scales at 182 kg (kerb).
Royal Enfield has been operating in Thailand since 2015 and recorded 102 bookings at the Thai Motor Expo. They are also slated to add 4 new centres to their service network by Q1 2017.
