As the test mule hints, the Brazil-spec Ford EcoSport will source the design and equipment changes from U.S-spec Ford EcoSport model, which was unveiled at the 2016 LA Auto Show. However, Ford Brazil has retained the tailgate-mounted spare tire. It will be manufactured at Ford’s plant in Camacari, Brazil, where the current EcoSport rolls out of.

The new EcoSport features bigger headlamps, bolder LED DRLs, triangular fog lamps, sharper dual slat trapezoidal black mesh grille and new alloy wheel designs. Although the interior of the Brazil-spec EcoSport has not been spied, the U.S-spec model comes with a new steering wheel, wider instrument cluster with a large multi-info display, new HVAC controls, redesigned dashboard housing a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system.

As with China, Ford Brazil has retained the tailgate-mounted spare tire on the 2017 EcoSport.

The facelifted EcoSport is reported to drop the 1.6L Sigma 4-cyl engine for a new 1.5L ‘Dragon’ three-cylinder petrol engine, while the bigger 2.0L 4-cyl motor will get direct injection. Manual and automatic transmissions will be available for both variants, while a 4×4 drivetrain will be exclusive to the 2.0L variant.
