Tata Hexa variant list surfaces ahead of launch; 14 variants to be sold

Each grade will offer the option of 6-seats or 7-seats.

Team-BHP member, RavenAvi, has acquired the owner's manual of the Tata Hexa, which reveals the variant list as well as kerb weight of each variant, ahead of its launch in January 2017.

The Hexa will launch in three grades: XE, XM, and XT, spread across 14 variants. Prospective customers have the option of selecting their Hexa with 6-seats or 7-seats for each grade, manual or automatic (XM and XT only), and 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains (XM and XT only). Prices are expected to range between INR 12 Lakhs – INR 16 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

What all variants share is a 2.2L VARICOR 4-cyl turbo diesel engine. The base XE packs the VARICOR 320 version paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, which produces 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque, while the XM and XT grades are powered by the VARICOR 400 version paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic, which outputs 156 PS and 400 Nm of torque. A 4x4 drivetrain is available in the manual variant and automatic variant of the Hexa XT and XM, respectively.

The owner's manual also reveals that the first service should be done at 3 months/5,000 km (whichever comes earlier), followed by subsequent service intervals at every 6 months/10,000 km. The first 3 services are free. The Hexa comes with a warranty of 36 months/1,00,000 km (whichever is earlier), as well as an engine warranty of 36 months/ 1,50,000 km (whichever is earlier).

Tata has confirmed that initial deliveries will commence in January 2017. Reports have narrowed down the launch date to January 16. Bookings are currently accepted across all Tata dealerships, and demo vehicles are being handed to customers for test drives.
