Confirmed to be manufactured and launched in Indonesia next year.
The production-spec Mitsubishi XM MPV was spied testing for the first time in Indonesia by Autonet Magz reader, Micco Prastyo. The Mitsubishi XM will be manufactured and launched in Indonesia next year, christened another name. It will also be exported to ASEAN markets like Thailand and Philippines
As the pre-production test mule spotted was heavily camouflaged, there weren't much noticeable details about its final design. However, by comparing the elements of the test mule with that of the XM Concept from GIIAS 2016, it appears that the exterior will not be too different from the concept.
Mitsubishi pitched the production-spec XM as a crossover, claiming to have the "toughness of an SUV with the versatility of an MPV”, although the test mule looks largely similar to an MPV. The production-spec model could feature black-plastic cladding, roof rails, bumper garnish and chunkier tires to lend that 'SUV' look.
Technical details are currently scarce on the Mitsubishi XM. What Mitsubishi has confirmed is that it will be a 7-seater and feature an optimized interior layout that ensures generous interior space for seven occupants.
