Honda Unicorn 160 joins the growing list of motorcycles to have BSIV compliance.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has very silently updated the Honda Unicorn 160 to meet the upcoming BSIV emission norms.
Powering the 2017 Honda Unicorn 160 is the same 162.71 cc single cylinder mill which is coupled to a 5 speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 13.82 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 13.92 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. That’s a drop from the 14.5 bhp/14.61 Nm output from the BSIII compliant version.
The output is now precariously close to the 13.14 bhp/12.84 Nm of the Honda Unicorn 150. The 2017 Honda Unicorn 160 also gains Auto Headlamp On (AHO) and a new visor. The bike is also taller by 2 mm. A new Matte Blue paint scheme has been introduced while black and red options get stickers.
The Honda Unicorn 160 continues to get Combined Braking System (CBS). The website continues to show the price tag of BSIII variant which retails at INR 73,481 for the standard version and INR 75,934 for the CBS version (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
The bike is expected to get a price bump to compensate for the BSIV emission compliance upgrade.
