Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) today launched the new CB Unicorn 160 at a price of INR 69,350, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The CBS (Combi-Brake System) variant is priced at INR 74,414, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
Power for the new Unicorn 160 comes from a single-cylinder 163 cc engine, whose power and torque outputs are yet to be revealed. Its equipped with Honda's Eco Technology (HET) and claims best-in-class torque delivery.
The CB Unicorn 160 is claimed to offer fuel efficiency of 62 km/l (when driven on Honda mode). The engine features small spines on the outer surface for added cooling, and gets a centrifugal casting that has helped in weight reduction.
Update: HMSI has confirmed the following technical specifications. The engine produces 14.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 14.61 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, matched to a 5-speed gearbox. The CB Unicorn 160 measures 2,045 mm in length, 757 mm in width and 1,060 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1,324 mm. It gets telescopic forks at the front and a spring loaded hydraulic shock at the rear. The front gets a 240 mm disc and the rear sees a 130 mm drum brake.
HMSI says that the CB Unicorn 160 targets the Indian male audience aged between 25-35 years, and hence features design elements like the LED taillight, a chrome finished muffler and floating side cowls. The motorcycle will be available in six colors including Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Black, Geny Grey Metallic and Sunbeam White.
Deliveries of the new Unicorn 160 will start from the third week of January 2015, Mr. Y.S. Guleria, Vice-President for sales and marketing, HMSI, said.
