With a power output of 35 PS, the Dominar is the most powerful Bajaj yet.
Bajaj Auto today launched the Bajaj Dominar 400 at INR 1.36 lakhs for the standard variant and INR 1.50 lakhs for the ABS trim (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Targeted at the youth-centric audience who wish to experience sport riding along with the comfort of a cruiser, the Bajaj Dominar 400 will be the company's flagship brand.
The Dominar is powered by a modified version of the KTM's 373.3 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled triple spark, 4-valve DTS-i mill coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. It is tuned to produce 35 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.
The motorcycle comes with 320 mm front disc, and 230 mm rear disc, with twin channel ABS as option. The motorcycle is hoisted on 110/70 section tire up front and 150/60 section in the rear shod over 17 inch rims. The radial tyres have been sourced from MRF. The Dominar will come in Midnight Blue, Twilight Plum and Moon White colours (refer gallery for images).
At the tape, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is 2,156 mm in length, 813 mm in width and 1,112 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1,453 mm and the bike has a 157 mm ground clearance. Its kerb weight is at 182 kg and its fuel tank can store 13 litre of fuel.
The Dominar is the first motorcycle in India to have full LED headlamps with balanced white light and vertical AHO (Auto Headlamps On).
Bajaj has announced that the Dominar will be sold through 80 showrooms across 22 towns. Test rides and display bikes will grace dealerships from tomorrow. Bookings for the motorcycle have commenced online, and deliveries will begin in January 2017.
