The 2017 Jeep Compass was launched in Brazil on 5 November and has had a very strong start in the South American market. FCA has announced that 2,537 units of the 2017 Jeep Compass were sold in the country last month, making the compact SUV one of the top-20 selling vehicles in the market.
FCA expected to sell 2,000 units of the 2017 Jeep Compass in Brazil initially, but the actual numbers are much higher. The second generation model is sold in the country with 2.0-litre Tigershark Flex flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol) and 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engines. 70% of sales during the first month were of the flex-fuel model.
The 2.0-litre Tigershark Flex engine produces up to 166 cv (166 hp) and up to 20.5 kgf-m (201.04 Nm) of torque and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It can be had in Sport, Longitude and Limited trim levels. The 2.0-litre Multijet engine develops 170 cv (170 hp) and 35.7 kgf-m (350.10 Nm) of torque and is paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It can be specified only in Longitude and the range-topping Trailhawk trim levels.
The Jeep Compass is an India-bound model. It is currently undergoing local testing and will be launched in the market in mid-2017 as the company's first locally-made model. The Tata-FCA JV’s Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra will manufacture the all-new model for all right-hand drive markets.

Manufactured with about 80% localisation level, the 2017 Jeep Compass will be offered in India in Sport, Longitude and Limited trim levels with prices starting below INR 30 lakh.
