Ford to introduce adventure variants of compact cars.
The Ford Fiesta Active introduced earlier this week will be the first among a slew of new adventure-styled models from Ford, the company announced in its release. A new report from Auto Express now follows up on that matter.
Joseph Bakaj, Vice President, Product Development, Ford of Europe, reaffirmed the development to the British publication. “I think we’ll continue to look at this (Active trim)", Mr. Bakaj said. "The Fiesta is going to be step one, and we’re bringing it to the market next summer, so we’ll know more there.”
The 2017 Ford Fiesta Active features SUV-inspired styling with aspects like raised ride-height, roof bars and additional cladding. The suspension has been raised, and there's dark cladding which starts from the front bumper lip and goes through the wheel arches to the rear, hexagonal grille design with a dark element for the liftgate licence plate area, contrast painted roof, roof bars and unique wheels.

The Ford Fiesta Active will be positioned between the regular Ford Fiesta and the Ford EcoSport. It will be for people who want just a higher seating position and aren't looking for an SUV like ground clearance.
Staying with adventure variants, Ford presented the slightly modified Ford Ka 'Trail' at last month's Sao Paulo Auto Show.
