Exterior design takes an evolutionary step forward.
Following its world premiere at a press conference in Cologne, Germany, Autocar UK has managed to source the 2017 Ford Fiesta Zetec and Fiesta ST-Line, as well as rope in Ernst Reim, chief of interiors for Ford in Europe, for a brief walkaround of its design.

Given that the Ford Fiesta is the American manufacturer's most popular model in Europe, it's no surprise that the latest Fiesta looks familiar to the outgoing model. Ford has slightly increased the dimensions for more space inside as well as to distance itself from the Ford Ka+ (Ford Figo). It is 71 mm longer, 12 mm wider, and has a 4 mm longer wheelbase than its predecessor.
The interior has been completely overhauled, claimed to offer a new, premium experience that customers don't generally expect from a B-segment hatchback. Ford has also focused on increasing cabin space, which was one of the gripes of the outgoing model. Thanks to the longer wheelbase and slimmer front seats, rear occupants now get good legroom and headroom. Boot capacity is reported to be around 290L.
