Petrol and Automatic variants reportedly launching next year.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza continues to fuel the growth of Maruti's utility vehicle sales. India's biggest car maker sold 18,008 units of its UVs last month, compared to 9,435 units in October 2015. Maruti Suzuki's UV range has the Gypsy, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga, but it's evident which particular model has helped them almost double up numbers.

Last month Maruti announced the 'iCreate' customization program for the Vitara Brezza.

The Vitara Brezza is selling at a rate of about 9,000 units a month - sales figures for June, July, August and September are 6673, 10232, 9554 and 9375 units respectively. MSIL exports the car only to Nepal.

In the April-October period, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,09,967 utility vehicles registering a growth of 138.7% percent against 46,068 units in the same period of 2015. It is India's best selling SUV, outpacing the Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio and the Hyundai Creta.

The Vitara Brezza is MSIL's first independently developed model. It comes only with a diesel engine - the 200 DDis 1,248cc churns out 88.5bhp @ 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque @ 1,750rpm, mated to a five-speed manual transmission, giving it an ARAI rated mileage of 24.3 km/l.
