BS IV-compliant range yet to be formally launched.
Bajaj Auto has announced on Facebook that the Bajaj Avenger is now compliant with BS IV emission norms. Strangely, the company claims that it is the first motorcycle to have been given this upgrade; it was reported just last week that the Bajaj Pulsar 220F has received the revision for MY2017, and is already on sale.
The Bajaj Avenger range comprises three models: Avenger Street 150, Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220. The company hasn't clarified which of these models have received the BS IV upgrade. From the picture, it's clear that an Avenger Street variant is BS IV-compliant now. The company's website is yet to reflect changes.
The Bajaj Avenger Street 150 is powered by the 150 cc DTS-i air-cooled engine that produces 14.54 PS at 9,000 rpm and 12.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The single-cylinder engine is paired to a 5-speed transmission. The Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 are powered by the 220 cc DTS-i oil-cooled engine that develops 19.03 PS at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The models have a 5-speed transmission.
