The 2017 KTM Duke 390 features a new design inspired by the 2017 1290 Super Duke R. While the sleek shape has been retained from the 2013 KTM Duke 390, the all-new model features design changes all over.

Compared to the 2013 Duke 390, the 2017 Duke 390 has a 10 mm shorter wheelbase, a 15 mm higher ground clearance and a 30 mm higher seat height. With a dry weight of 149 kg, the redesigned model is 10 kg heavier.

The 2017 Duke 390 has ride-by-wire system, side-mounted conventional exhaust system, LED headlight, LED daytime running lights, colour TFT instrument panel and KTM MY RIDE – all of which were unavailable on the original model. The fuel tank has been enlarged to store 13.4 litres (+ 2.4 litres) of fuel. The steel-made trellis frame now has a new rear-bolt on subframe. Other changes include new 43 mm upside-down front forks by WP Suspension, 142 mm (-8 mm) front suspension travel and new 320 mm disc (+20 mm) for the front front brake.

The old KTM Duke 390’s 373.2 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder has been carried over in the all-new KTM Duke 390, but it delivers 32 kW (44 hp) at 9,000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm now. The maximum power output remains the same, while the maximum torque has been increased by 2 Nm. Moreover, the maximum power and maximum torque are achieved at lower engine speeds (power: 500 rpm, torque: 250 rpm). The upgraded engine is also Euro IV-compliant.
