Will be launched at a later period in 2017.
Zigwheels reports that Tata Motors will soon offer the option of a 4WD system for the Tata Hexa automatic variant. At launch, only the manual variant will be equipped with 4WD as an option.
One of the reasons why a 4WD system will not available for the AT variant at launch could be attributed to the pricing, which the company is trying to keep as competitive as possible. Should there be demand for such a variant from customers willing to pay the premium, Tata is likely to roll it out immediately, then.
The Hexa is powered by a 2.2L four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine capable of 156 PS at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,700-2,700 rpm. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual (base model), 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Only variants with the 6-speed manual gearbox are available with a 4WD system and Tata's Super Drive modes - Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.

Tata Motors dealerships will start accepting bookings on the coming Tuesday (November 1), and the Hexa is scheduled to launch for sale in January 2017. Rumors are that prices will undercut both the Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta.
