Deliveries to start in January 2017.
According to a report on CarToq, the forthcoming Tata Hexa will undercut the Mahindra XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta on price. The publication reports that the top-end Tata Hexa - Tata Hexa XT 4x4 MT - will cost INR 17.49 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune whereas the top-end Tata Hexa automatic variant - Tata Hexa XTA 4x2 AT - will cost INR 17.44 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune.
In comparison, the Mahindra XUV500 W10 AWD MT is priced at INR 17.5 lakhs, whereas the XUV500 W10 AWD AT costs INR 18.53 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune. It should be noted that the XUV500's top-end AT trim still gets the 4x4 system whereas the Hexa's AT variant is a 2WD only, according to the report.
While the price difference may be considered negligible when comparing with the XUV500, the cost difference is significant in comparison to the Innova Crysta. The top-end Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 ZX MT costs INR 20.58 lakhs and the Innova Crysta 2.8 ZX AT comes in at INR 21.95 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune.
