Will the Audi RS 5 Sportback gets the RS treatment?
The next generation of Audi's mid-size RS models, the RS 4 and RS 5, are currently under development and expected to start arriving next year. The previous-gen A5 Sportback was not available as an RS model, but in case the second-gen model does, these new renderings from Theophilus Chin foresee reality of the five-door performance variant.
Audi is expanding the number of cars in the RS family. Most recently, the Audi RS 3 Sedan was introduced keeping in mind markets in Asia and the U.S. The third-gen RS 4 was exclusively offered in the Avant (estate/wagon) version, and in the fourth generation, Audi's chief engineers, prior to dieselgate, revealed that the RS4 sedan version was under development. Reports recently suggest that in the markets like U.S. and China, a coupe-esque hatchback like the RS 7 could be offered.

If launched to sandwich the two RS models, the Audi RS 5 Sportback could be powered by the 2.9-litre twin turbocharged V6 petrol engine from the second-gen Porsche Panamera 4S. A circa-4 second 0-100 km/h acceleration time can be expected from this Audi-designed motor.
