Reported to launch in November.
According to a report on Autocar India, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner has started arriving at dealerships (for training/demo purposes), and its market launch will indeed take place in November. The second generation Fortuner's Indian introduction has been fast-tracked on account of the lifting of the ban on large diesel-powered cars in Delhi-NCR, a key market for the Fortuner.
Based on a ladder-frame platform, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be powered by the same engines seen on the 2016 Toyota Innova. The diesel engines include the 2.4- and 2.8-liter four-cylinder GD units, whereas the petrol is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder motor. 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer as will the 4x4 system.
LED projector headlights with daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Downhill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, 7-inch T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation, reversing camera and push button start/stop button are among the features anticipated on the new Fortuner.
