Will debut Maruti's new 1.0L Boosterjet engine.
Gaadi.com reports that the Maruti Baleno RS will start arriving in showrooms from this November. Maruti has confirmed that the Baleno RS will launch before the end of this year but is yet to divulge an exact date.
The main highlight is Maruti's all new 1.0L Boosterjet engine, the first turbocharged petrol engine from India's top car manufacturer. In the export-spec Baleno, the three-cylinder turbo engine produces 110 hp/170 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Whilst producing more horses than the regular Baleno 1.2, it is also reported as being more fuel efficient too.
Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, the Baleno RS variant will feature a mesh-pattern grille, sportier front bumper with a wider radiator intake and silver underlining, side skirts, black-painted alloy wheels, roof spoiler and a new rear bumper. It is also be reported to be equipped with rear-disc brakes for better stopping power.

The Baleno RS will slot into the fledgling entry-level hot hatch segment comprising of products like the VW Polo GT TSI and Fiat Punto Abarth.
