New Bolero variant is categorised as a sub-4m SUV.

Mahindra has launched a sub-4m version of the Bolero in India to take advantage of the 'small car' tax incentives and make it more affordable to target audiences. The Bolero Power+ as it is called, here's how it compares against established products like the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.

The Bolero sources the 1.5L three-cylinder turbo diesel engine from the TUV300, although Mahindra has detuned it for better fuel efficiency. Despite that, the Bolero is the least fuel efficient sub-4m SUV in the segment, which could be attributed to its heavy body-on-frame construction. It's also the least powerful SUV, producing 70 PS and 195 Nm of torque.

The Bolero is not the longest or widest SUV, but it's the tallest and has one of the longest wheelbases in the segment, which translates to better interior space. Like the TUV300, the Bolero Power+ offers a pair of jump seats in the third row.
