The Renault Kaptur is based on the Dacia Duster’s B0 platform.

The Renault Kaptur is 4,333 mm long, 1,813 mm wide and 1,613 mm tall. It has a 2,674 mm-long wheelbase, a ground clearance of 204 mm, and offers 387 litres of boot space which can be increased 1,200 litres by folding the rear seats.

Renault confirmed last month that the Renault Kaptur will be launched in Brazil in H1 2017. Renault has decided to sell the Renault Kaptur as ‘Renault Captur’ in Brazil. It will be powered by a 1.6-litre flex-fuel engine that produces 114 cv (114 hp) and 15.5 kgf.m (152.00 Nm) of torque in Brazil, but other South American markets will get a 2.0-litre engine linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Brazil will get a 2.0-litre engine later, but with a continuously variable transmission.

The Dacia Duster’s B0 platform-based Renault Kaptur will be launched in India reportedly in October 2017. It has already been imported for local testing, and right from launch, is expected to be manufactured alongside the Renault Duster at the Renault-Nissan’s Alliance plant in Oragadam near Chennai. The Renault Kaptur in India will likely rival the Hyundai Creta and the forthcoming Nissan Kicks.
