An unknown owner of a Royal Enfield Himalayan has managed to replace the 411 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine for the KTM Duke’ 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.

Its reliability is questionable, as doubts arise whether the Himalayan’s platform can handle the KTM motor’s excess output.

This new marriage combines the power of the D390’s engine with the off-road prowess of Himalayan, which can serve as an alternative to the anticipated KTM 390 Adventure variant. However, its reliability is questionable, as doubts arise whether the Himalayan’s frame can handle the excess power – the Himalayan’s stock 411 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine produces 24.5 hp, while the KTM Duke 390’s 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine outputs a beefy 44 hp. The RE’s 5-speed gearbox has also been replaced by the KTM’s 6-speed gearbox.

The user has also replaced the traditional analogue dials and compass for the KTM’s simple digital display. Otherwise, upon first glance, it looks like any other Himalayan you’d normally see on roads.
