Is the world's first mass-produced 10-speed gearbox for application in vehicles.
The 2016 Ford F-150 is available only with a 6-speed transmission, but Ford is about to launch the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor in the USA with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Prior to it will come the standard 2017 Ford F-150 with a 10-speed automatic.
Officially confirmed to go on sale this Fall, the 2017 Ford F-150 with the 10-speed automatic transmission will reach dealerships in October, as per a report from The Detroit News. The 10-speed automatic transmission is part of the joint venture agreement between Ford and GM announced in April 2013.
The 10-speed AT is built by Ford and is the company's first transmission to be made without cast-iron components. The first volume-production 10-speed transmission from any automaker, is made from steel, aluminium and composite alloys for maximizing weight savings.

The co-developed 10-speed automatic transmission will be available in the 2017 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost V6 priced from US$30,630 (INR 20,30,719.99). The second generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine powering this model produces 375 hp and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. The Ford F-150 is the first and only truck in its segment to be available with a twin-turbo gasoline engine.
