PT Suzuki Indomobil has unveiled the India-made Suzuki Baleno at the 2016 GIIAS for the Indonesian market. The Baleno is expected to go on sale later this year or early next year in Indonesia.
The Baleno showcased features a bodykit similar that of the Maruti Baleno RS unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016. It features a mesh grille, sportier front bumper with a wider radiator intake and silver underlining, side skirts, gun-metal 16 inch alloy wheels, roof spoiler and a lower rear bumper. It is finished in an exclusive black exterior color not offered in the Indian market.
Another exclusive is the engine under the hood. The Indonesia-spec Suzuki Baleno is powered by the Maruti Ertiga’s 1.4L K14B four cylinder N/A petrol engine. Suzuki is yet to release performance figures, but it could be similar to the Ertiga’s figures – 91.1 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is likely to be standard, while an automatic variant is also in the offing.
Top-end variants of the Baleno will feature a 7 inch Smartplay infotainment touchscreen system with Apple Carplay support, reverse camera with parking sensors, dual airbags and ABS, HID headlamps with LED DRLs, multi-info color display and keyless entry with start/stop button.
