Expected to be priced between INR 3.3-4.2 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
According to Financial Express, Renault India has scheduled the launch of the Renault Kwid 1.0L variant for this month. This should appeal to prospective customers looking for more power from the Kwid.
Currently, the Kwid is only sold with a 0.8L three cylinder SCe petrol engine, which outputs 52 hp and is capable of averaging an ARAI-certified 25.13 km/l. Renault hasn't revealed the performance figures of the Kwid 1.0L variant, but it is expected to output 65-70 hp and fuel efficiency could be close to the 0.8L variant. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be fitted as standard, while the Easy-R AMT is likely to be offered in top-end grades.
As seen at the Auto Expo 2016, the exterior and interior of the Kwid 1.0L will be identical to its less powerful sibling. The 1.0L variant is expected to offer dual airbags as an option, while an ABS system may be in the cards. Renault India has assured that the Kwid will far exceed the Indian safety norms in 2017.
