Will launch alongside 1.0L MT variant before Diwali.
Anything on Wheels has spotted a Renault Kwid 1.0L with Easy-R AMT testing in Chennai, which will be introduced alongside the regular 1.0L MT variant before this Diwali.
To differentiate from the regular models, the AMT variants have a small 'Easy-R' AMT badge on the tailgate, as seen in the spy shot. Otherwise it looks identical to the Renault Kwid sold in the market today.
Reports suggest that the Kwid 1L and Kwid AMT will get the option of dual front airbags, ABS and EBD. The current 0.8L variant has a driver airbag as an option in the top-end RXT grade.
Under the hood, the 1.0-liter unit is based on the same engine architecture of the current Kwid’s 0.8-liter three-cylinder SCe unit. Power figures will be revealed at its market launch, which is expected to range between 65-70 PS.

The Kwid AMT will feature a rotary gear selector on its center console, but not offer manual shifting modes. It will take on the popular Maruti Alto K10 AMT, and is expected to trump the Alto's fuel efficiency of 24.07 km/L.
