Is the second best-selling MPV in the market.
Maruti has sold over 275,000 units of the Maruti Ertiga, since it was launched in April 2012. As per calculations, Maruti has rolled out a total of 278,964 units of the Ertiga, resulting in an average of nearly 5,500 units a month.
The Ertiga's average sales is a respectable figure, considering the fact that the demand has been shifting towards compact SUVs and crossovers lately. In July 2016, the Ertiga was the second best-selling MPV in the Indian market (first is Toyota Innova Crysta), registering a total sales figure of 6,625 units.
Since its arrival in 2012, Maruti has been updating the Ertiga and launching special editions to garner market share. A mid-cycle facelift for the Maruti Ertiga was launched in October 2015, which introduced Maruti's SHVS mild-hybrid system to the 1.3 diesel variant.

The diesel-hybrid variant became popular, due to its exemption from the Odd-Even scheme in Delhi-NCR, as well as availing benefits of upto INR 13,000 in subsidy under the government’s FAME India initiative for promotion of hybrid and electric vehicles.
