The Ertiga’s average sales is a respectable figure, considering the fact that the demand has been shifting towards compact SUVs and crossovers lately. In July 2016, the Ertiga was the second best-selling MPV in the Indian market (first is Toyota Innova Crysta), registering a total sales figure of 6,625 units.

Since its arrival in 2012, Maruti has been updating the Ertiga and launching special editions to garner market share. A mid-cycle facelift for the Maruti Ertiga was launched in October 2015, which introduced Maruti’s SHVS mild-hybrid system to the 1.3 diesel variant.
