Currently exclusive to the Chinese market.
A pre-production, camouflaged BMW 1 Series sedan was spotted in Spain by Auto Plus reader 'bmw95'. BMW has confirmed that the 1 Series sedan is only exclusive to the Chinese market, so it's unlikely to arrive in Europe anytime soon.
The BMW 1 Series sedan is the company's first ever FWD sedan, riding on the new UKL platform sourced from the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The exterior was previewed by a concept at the last Beijing Motor Show, which has little differences with the production-spec model unveiled last month. It has the look of a smaller 3 Series with the front-end of the 1 Series.
Engine lineup will probably include 3- and 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with displacements ranging from 1.5- to 2.0-litre, paired to either 6-speed manual or 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

It's unclear if the model will arrive in the Indian market as well, given that the company's focus is on China, where it hopes to tap the luxury segment with locally made and developed products.
