New smallest BMW sedan made only for China.
BMW has revealed the BMW 1 Series Sedan, the production version of the BMW Concept Compact Sedan, exclusively for China. The first compact sports sedan from the German automaker will be sold by BMW Brilliance Automotive.
Design-wise, the BMW 1 Series Sedan is not far from the concept it's based on. The latest family design has found its way to the smallest sedan as well. The BMW kidney grille is flanked by dual LED headlamps and followed by a V-shaped air dam grille at the bottom. The sporty bumper with gloss black colouring for several elements add some praiseworthy aggression to a BMW sedan this small.
Looking from the sides, the 1 Series Sedan sure looks like a smaller 3 Series Sedan, but the short rear overhang will probably make it look relatively more of a sports sedan when seen side by side. The rear-end is yet to be revealed, and so is the interior.

BMW hasn't revealed any of the BMW 1 Series Sedan's specifications or key features, but does mention that it will come with the latest and powerful technology-leading engines produced at the new engine plant in Shenyang. BMW ConnectedDrive technologies will on board. The 1 Series Sedan will probably be offered with 3- and 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with displacements ranging from 1.5- to 2.0-litre, in conjunction with 6-speed manual or 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
