Will debut later this year.
The Land Rover Discovery will move from fourth generation to fifth generation with a full revamp this year. The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is being tested worldwide currently, and in the latest, it has been spied in China.
The spyshots nearly reveal the exterior, leaving almost nothing to imagination. The Land Rover Discovery is set to feature the new family design seen on the Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Discovery Sport. Land Rover has already previewed the next-gen Discovery, with the Land Rover Discovery Vision concept. Even in the fifth generation, the Discovery will have a stepped roof for “stadium seating” for seven people.
The fifth generation Land Rover Discovery will be underpinned by the same PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) platform as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The new platform should bring considerable weight reduction, increased strength, and more capability to the Discovery. Along with the familiar 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines from the other latest Land Rovers, an electrified powertrain will also be available.

The next-gen Land Rover Discovery will be built alongside the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport at the Solihull plant in England. UK and other first markets will get the 2017 Land Rover Discovery in late-2016, while the markets outside Europe including the U.S., Canada, China and India will probably see the launch in 2017.
