Will launch in Indonesia at GIIAS 2016.
A Toyota Calya is being showcased at a dealership in Indonesia ahead of its launch expected to take place at the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, which will be held between August 11-21 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Dealers could be accepting bookings for the Calya MPV ahead of its premiere.
As seen in older images of undisguised examples, the front fascia has a bold chrome bar flanked by a pair of angular headlamps, while the bumper houses a large hexagonal grille with a chrome applique and round foglamps. At the back, it features Toyota Innova Crysta-inspired taillamps, roof spoiler and a bold chrome garnish above the registration plate area.
Top-end variants will ride on 14 inch alloy wheels, as seen in the model above. The Calya measures 4,070 mm in length, 1,655 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,525 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm.
Inside, the Calya features a console mounted gear selector that sits beside the HVAC controls and floating dashboard design finished in dual-tone beige and black. It also gets a plain three-spoke steering wheel and analogue instrument cluster with a small multi-info display and round HVAC vents on either sides.
The Toyota Calya is only available with a 3NR-FE 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 88 PS (87.76 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 108 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual as standard, while a 4-speed automatic transmission is optional.
