Introduces electrical assistance to the engine.
Mahindra will soon introduce a micro-hybrid technology to Mahindra Scorpio, which is a significant upgrade from the Micro-Hybrid system (basically an auto start/stop system) currently offered in its lineup, according to Autocar India.
Dubbed as 'Intelli-Hybrid', it will only be fitted to the 2.2L mHawk variant of the Scorpio available in rest of the nation, and not in the 1.99L mHawk variant sold exclusively in the Delhi-NCR. It will be offered in the Mahindra Scorpio first, followed by other products in the near future.
Similar to Maruti's SHVS mild-hybrid system in the Ciaz and Ertiga, Mahindra's 'Intelli-Hybrid' integrates auto start-stop, brake energy recuperation, a larger capacity battery and a starter motor that functions as both an alternator and a motor that provides a mild electrical boost in certain driving conditions.

It's unclear by how much prices will increase over the current model, although vehicles fitted with such fuel saving features in India can take advantage of the lower excise duty as part of NEMMP's (National Electric Mobility Mission Plan) incentive.
