Tata Nexon photographed with projector headlamps
Aravind Jayachandran, I'm a huge petrolhead, an automobile engineer, a massive fan of Ferrari, and loves collecting die-cast models for inspiration.
Expected to launch for sale in 2017.
The sub-4m SUV from Tata Motors made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016, featuring a contemporary exterior influenced by Tata’s IMPACT design language. It is 3,995 mm long and has a ground clearance of 200 mm. Exterior features include projector headlights, a ceramic side finisher, contrast roof, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights and LED daytime running lights in addition to a piano-black grille element.
Inside, the Nexon will have a simpler dashboard design and come equipped with features like a 6.5-inch touchscreen entertainment system with an 8-speaker audio, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, a drive-mode selector and a multi-information display, push button start and electrically-adjustable wing mirrors.
The engine lineup will include a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-liter diesel engine. The latter is based on the all-new Revotorq diesel family and produces 110 PS & 260 Nm of torque. The diesel variant is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, while AMT variants have also been spied on test.
